We cosponsor two projects in Israel: Jewish – Arab Paired Waldorf Classes which includes the first Arab Waldorf School in Israel and we also co-sponsor the first Jewish Arab Bicultural/Bilingual Waldorf kindergarten.
Palestinian kindergarten teachers from the West Bank area of Jenin are receiving Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher Training in Israel. These Palestinian teachers will bring to their classrooms new social and cultural skills aimed at cooperation and peace.
Through the practice of moral imagination and conflict resolution, our students will discover new alternatives to violence-oriented thinking, new opportunities for problem solving, and new potentials for cooperation where none were seen before.
A 2003 study revealed that 43% of ALL children in Israel suffered post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We co-sponsor a healing education that addresses the chronic stress children experience living in regional conflict.
